Seeking a dynamic and experienced Production Maintenance Team Leader to join our team. In this role, you will manage and lead the production maintenance team to ensure the ships are maintained in accordance with technical, financial, schedule, and quality requirements. You will work closely with various managers to ensure production activities are conducted on time and to the correct standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Manage and lead the production maintenance team to meet all technical, financial, schedule, and quality requirements.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Ship Maintenance Manager, Engineering Manager, and Planning Manager to ensure timely and quality production activities.
  • Problem Identification: Ensure production issues are identified and reported via the PIR system.
  • Daily Management: Oversee the day-to-day activities of production superintendents, ensuring subcontractors complete work packages on schedule and address PIRs and price variations.
  • Wharf Services Management: Manage wharf services, including cranes and other support services, and the High Risk Safety Contractor.
  • Liaison: Liaise daily with the Ships Refit Liaison Officer to ensure ship schedules and work requirements are met and conflicts are resolved.
  • Safety Compliance: Work closely with the WHS Officer to ensure subcontractors comply with site safety requirements, including the Permit to Work System.
  • Safety Drills: Manage safety evacuation drills and rectify any identified shortfalls.
  • Updates and Documentation: Ensure subcontractors and superintendents provide timely and accurate updates and required OQE on task completion.
  • Safety Management: Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety requirements, emphasizing safety as the Principal Contractor.
  • Support: Provide support to the Ship Maintenance Manager, including acting as 2IC when required.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Follow State WHSE Acts and Regulations, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of staff and environmental protection.
  • Due Diligence: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of work health and safety & environmental matters, ensuring incident and hazard information is communicated.
  • Strategic Direction: Provide strategic direction to support the AOR Enterprise’s mission of delivering effective and value-for-money sustainment through asset management.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a similar role within the maritime or defense industry.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of WHSE Acts, Regulations, and safety management.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
