As Senior Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining electrical and instrumentation systems to ensure efficient and reliable energy operations.
You'll manage projects from start to finish, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations, while collaborating with various stakeholders.
You'll have strong technical expertise in electrical engineering, problem-solving abilities, project management proficiency, and excellent communication skills. This role is vital for minimizing downtime and enhancing operational efficiency supporting capital projects, as well as contributing to operations, maintenance, and strategic engineering standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Offer technical guidance for the operation and maintenance teams across various assets.
  • Manage all aspects of Control System, Electrical & Instrumentation equipment, software, and contractors.
  • Assist with electrical engineering design issues, standards development, system upgrades, and asset life extensions.

Technical Skills Required

  • Electrical Engineering: Strong background in electrical system design, analysis, and troubleshooting.
  • Instrumentation: Proficiency in instrumentation and control systems, including PLCs, SCADA, and DCS.
  • Project Management: Demonstrated ability to plan, execute, and monitor engineering projects effectively.
  • Software Proficiency: Experience with engineering software such as AutoCAD, MATLAB, and other relevant tools.
  • Standards and Compliance: In-depth knowledge of industry standards and regulations, including WHS and environmental standards.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to tackle complex engineering challenges.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Accountabilities

  • Oversee projects in capital development program and propose future projects based on business needs.
  • Source and manage external goods and services to support capital projects.
  • Provide engineering support for maintenance troubleshooting and operational input.
  • Report regularly to management on the progress of capital projects and other engineering tasks against budget and targets.
  • Collaborate with maintenance personnel to ensure capital projects are properly scoped for operational use and handed over with adequate information, training, and support.
  • Serve as on-call Duty Officer as rostered, responding to potential business-critical operational issues.

This position does require you to be contactable outside of regular hours, and you will be required to travel intra and interstate.
