As a Cybersecurity Engineer, you will play a crucial role in protecting the organisation’s digital assets and ensuring the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of our information systems.

Your main tasks will involve detecting vulnerabilities, ensuring adherence to security protocols, and swiftly addressing cybersecurity incidents.

Your work will be crucial in safeguarding sensitive data, maintaining system integrity, and preventing unauthorised access, thereby ensuring a robust security stance in an ever-changing threat landscape.

This role is ideally located in Adelaide, however, other locations in Australia can be considered.

About the Role

  • Security Operations: Monitor and respond to security incidents, conduct vulnerability assessments, and implement security measures to protect against cyber threats.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Cyber Security Analyst to analyse security data and trends, and with the Senior Systems Engineer to ensure secure system configurations and deployments.
  • Incident Response: Lead and participate in incident response activities, including investigation, containment, eradication, and recovery.
  • Security Policies: Develop, implement, and maintain security policies, procedures, and standards in alignment with industry best practices.
  • Risk Management: Identify and assess security risks, and recommend mitigation strategies to reduce risk exposure. Identify security gaps and provide actionable solutions to mitigate risks.
  • Security Awareness: Conduct security awareness training and provide guidance to staff on security best practices.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with the latest security trends, technologies, and threats, and continuously improve the organisation’s security posture.

About You

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in cyber security, with a strong understanding of security principles, practices, and technologies, with experience in penetration testing or ethical hacking.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in security tools and technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, SIEM, and endpoint protection.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a small team environment, with a willingness to overlap and support other roles as needed.
