Process Control Engineer

We are seeking urgent applications from Control System Engineers with Heavy Industry experience for a pivotal role in Mining.

Role Type: Fly-In Fly-Out, Full-time Hourly Rate Contracting
Roster: Day Shift / Night Shift
Rotation: 7 days on, followed by 7 days off

In this key Contracting position, you will ensure the smooth operation of surface equipment during breakdowns and highly critical situations.

Rockwell/Allen Bradley and Citect/PlantSCADA experience is essential.

Key Responsibilities

1. Control Systems Support:
   - Provide technical support during breakdowns and production critical issues
   - Investigate and identify root causes of downtime related to control systems
   - Execute solutions to prevent recurring events
   - Optimize plant performance by initiating improvement projects.

2. PLC/SCADA Coding and Graphics:
   - Perform PLC/SCADA coding and develop graphics
   - Contribute to maintaining and optimizing alarms on control systems.

3. Design and Commissioning:
   - Execute control systems design and commissioning for plant modifications and new equipment installation.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, Instrumentation, or a similar discipline is required.
• Hardware Experience: Troubleshooting skills and familiarity with the Rockwell product line.
• Programming Skills: Proficiency in Citect SCADA, Siemens PLCs, and HIMA safety systems.
• Safety Focus: High vigilance for safety in challenging environments.
• Industry Experience: Ideally, experience in a previous processing plant industry.
• Team Player: Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Driver’s Licence: Manual driver’s license required.
