Reporting to the Team Leader Electrical Instrumentation and Control Engineering, you will join a vibrant and diverse team and play a key role to provide Instrumentation & Control Systems engineering design, technical document preparation, package engineering, construction and commissioning.
The purpose of this role is to provide technical leadership on Projects in process control and systems engineering to implement and maintain controls to allow us to deliver safe, secure, economical and innovative Projects to customers and communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare engineering design documentation and provide process control input into design reviews and risk assessments for concept, front end and detailed design stages of assigned projects
- Prepare and review control systems functional specifications, control narratives, instrument specifications, IO schedules, C&E matrices, network architecture design, alarm lists, hardware selection, SCADA mapping lists, test procedures etc.
- Ensure engineering and design documentation prepared by us, external engineering service providers, or vendors meets project/stakeholder requirements, statutory and licence requirements.
- Prepare, review, and oversee engineering work packs for Design Consultants and Systems Integrators
- Provide engineering support and be available for onsite support during construction, commissioning and handover to operations
- Engaging with a stakeholder to assist companywide initiatives in Process Control improvement, Functional Safety, Process Safety, Alarm Design and Rationalisation and Cybersecurity
- Provide input, as required, to continuously improve relevant engineering standards, policies and procedures relating to control systems engineering
About You
- Tertiary qualification in Instrumentation & Control Systems Engineering (or related fields) admitting to corporate membership of the Institution of Engineers, Australia or equivalent (Desirable)
- Extensive experience in industrial control system and safety system configuration, commissioning and troubleshooting (DCS, PLCs, RTU, SIS, SCADA), interfaces, and communication protocols
- Proven experience in the design, construction, operation or maintenance of gas transmission, gas processing, LNG, chemical process power generation, utilities or associated industries
- Functional Safety Certification (CFSP/T?V) (Desired)
- Knowledge of relevant statutory requirements, Australian and international codes and standards including AS2885, AS3000, AS/NZS 60079, AS 61508, AS/NZS 61511, and AS 4853
