We are seeking an experienced Electrical and Control Systems Engineer to join our Engineering and Project team. The successful candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in electrical and control systems design and implementation in a manufacturing environment
Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical and control systems for manufacturing processes
- Install, commission, and maintain control systems
- Develop and maintain technical documentation for electrical and control systems
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with control systems
- Ensure electrical and control systems are in compliance with industry and safety standards
- Support all Technical, Electrical and Engineering teams with identifying improvement opportunities by costing and quantifying benefit
- Manage and support execution of capital and non-capital improvement initiatives
- Ensuring that company EH&S policies and procedures are adhered to.
- Following quality processes and ensuring compliance and industry engineering standards.
Skills/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and Control Systems
- Expertise in understanding and developing electrical wiring, switchboard/ control panel design and P&ID drawings.
- Experience in low voltage and high voltage systems.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a electrical and control systems role in a manufacturing environment
- Excellent skills and experience in Industrial Control and Automation (SCADA/DCS and PLC) including IT/OT networking and variable speed drives
- Relevant PLC Programming Experience (e.g. Rockwell, Schneider, Siemens)
- Relevant SCADA Programming Experience (e.g. Citect, FactoryTalk View, GE iFIX)
- Hands on approach is critical to this role
- Critical thinking skills with an ability to solve technical issues
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with industry standards such as AS 3000, ISO 9001, IEC 61508, and/or IEC 61511 is a plus.
- Knowledge of machine safety systems would be an advantage.
