A leading Northern Territory Government-owned utility provider is seeking an experienced ICT Technical Architect to join their Strategy and Architecture team within the broader ICT business unit. This contract role is a senior-level position titled Principal Technical and Infrastructure Architect, responsible for leading the design and delivery of enterprise-level architectural solutions that support the organisation’s strategic and operational needs.

This is a non-supervisory role reporting directly to the Senior Manager, Strategy & Architecture, and involves collaboration across internal teams, external customers, and senior leadership.


Key Responsibilities

  • Enterprise Architecture Development: Define and document technology and infrastructure direction aligned with enterprise goals.
  • Architecture Requirements Management: Design and deliver solutions that meet stakeholder needs and comply with standards.
  • Standards Definition: Contribute to the development of sustainable technical and infrastructure standards.
  • Opportunity Identification: Support the selection and implementation of architectural opportunities and innovations.
  • Solution Architecture: Oversee the design, procurement, and maintenance of IT infrastructure components.
  • Consulting & Advisory: Provide expert-level guidance in technical and infrastructure domains.
  • Knowledge Management: Maintain and enhance the enterprise architecture repository and tools.
  • Tool & Template Development: Create resources that support business outcomes and improve operational efficiency.

Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • Exceptional communication skills (written, verbal, interpersonal)
  • Strong technical, analytical, and project management capabilities
  • Broad architectural expertise across business, application, information, technology, and security domains
  • Hands-on experience in technical and infrastructure activities
  • Proficiency in architectural modelling and visual representation
  • Quick learner with a proactive approach to new technologies
  • People-first mindset and collaborative attitude

Desirable:

  • Tertiary qualifications in IT or related field
  • Relevant ICT certifications (e.g., TOGAF, AWS, Azure, etc.)

Minimum Experience:

  • At least 5 years of technical experience as a Solution Architect in the ICT field

Contract Details

  • Duration: 12 months from commencement
  • Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM ACST, Monday to Friday
  • Location: Darwin, NT preferred; remote work options may be considered
  • Rate: Competitive daily rate (negotiable based on experience)
