Mechanical Project Engineer (SMP)

Responsibility will include “hands-on” doing of various design, procurement, scheduling and cost management aspects depending on the assigned package and the capability and skill of the incumbent.

Responsibilities

• Oversight of the design process
• Maintain an awareness of the Design Management Plan
• Participate in the resolution of engineering issues within the assigned work packages.
• Ensure integration of design disciplinesOversight of the Project Control and Procurement/Contract process
• Co-ordination of technical specifications, tendering, procurement, contracting and contract administration
• Participate in the negotiation of contracts and resolution of issues
• Planning and cost control

• Oversight of the construction process
• Oversight of the commissioning process
• Engineering

• Complete process Technical Specifications for procurement and installation equipment, infrastructure and assets.
• Complete Technical Reports / Studies / Advice
• Actively participate in technical risk management and design reviews

Required

• Experience in the development and delivery of brownfield or greenfield projects
• Experience of working through project processes from the feasibility phase through to project handover.
• 5+ years of experience managing capital and/or maintenance projects
• Experience with heavy industrial manufacturing facilities and associated infrastructure
• The ability to quickly switch between the big picture and detail as the situation dictates
