Principal / Senior Control Systems Engineer

What You’ll Do

• Lead engineering design and delivery across major projects.
• Act as a technical authority, ensuring design integrity and quality.
• Provide expert advice and mentorship to engineers and graduates.
• Represent the business in client meetings, offering technical solutions.
• Drive design verification, audits, and process improvements.
• Oversee device and material selection and procurement.
• Identify skill gaps and support team development.
• Collaborate with subcontractors and promote a strong safety culture.
• Contribute to project bids and support business development.

What You Bring

• Proven experience in control systems engineering within the Mining/Resources sector.
• Strong leadership and people management capabilities.
• Advanced knowledge of PLC (Rockwell) and SCADA (Citect); Siemens, Schneider, GE PLC, or Ignition SCADA experience highly regarded.
• Experience working with major clients such as BHP WAIO or FMG is a plus.
• Excellent planning, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• A proactive, solutions-focused mindset.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in automation and control systems.
• Australian Driver’s Licence.
• Full working rights in Australia.
