An opportunity exists for an experienced Program Director to lead a strategically significant digital transformation initiative within a government policing environment. This role is critical to the successful delivery and adoption of complex business systems that enhance operational capabilities and community safety outcomes.
Position Overview
The Program Director will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-value, multi-stream projects. The role requires strong leadership, stakeholder engagement, and a focus on both technical delivery and organisational adoption. The successful candidate will coordinate across internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with strategic objectives and effective implementation of digital solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage complex business systems projects from design through to implementation and adoption.
- Oversee multiple project streams, including internal teams and external vendors.
- Ensure solutions are integrated into operational environments and are practical, usable, and accepted by end users.
- Apply structured project management methodologies to ensure effective planning, governance, and risk management.
- Monitor program benefits and ensure outcomes are realised and sustained.
- Support change management, training, and communication initiatives.
- Analyse and interpret legislative and regulatory requirements relevant to the program.
- Communicate technical and analytical information clearly to diverse audiences.
Essential Criteria
- Minimum 5–10 years’ experience in program or project management roles.
- Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Proven experience in project planning, risk and issue management, and delivery of complex solutions.
- Strong capability in change management and user engagement.
- High-level communication skills, including the ability to translate complex issues into accessible language.
- Experience in interpreting legislative and regulatory frameworks.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience in large-scale government programs, particularly in law enforcement or frontline services.
- Understanding of IT Service Management frameworks.
- Technical knowledge of system design, integration, and interfaces.
- Proficiency in tools such as Microsoft Visio, Office Suite, JIRA, and SharePoint.
Additional Information
- Candidates must be willing to relocate to Darwin for the duration of the contract.
