Electrical Design Engineer - Multi-Year Contract

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to support the delivery of electrical and control system design packages across Water and Wastewater infrastructure projects. This is a hands-on role focused on turnkey electrical design delivery, working closely with clients and project teams to meet programme and quality requirements.

This role is ideal for an Electrical Design Engineer who is technically strong, self-sufficient, and comfortable operating in a client-facing project environment.

Skills & Experience

To be successful in this contract role, you will have:

• 5+ years’ experience delivering electrical design packages in an industrial environment
• Demonstrated experience in Water / Wastewater projects
• A degree qualification in Electrical Engineering
• Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach
• The ability to integrate quickly into project teams and work autonomously

Technical Scope

You will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of electrical design packages, including:

• Power systems analysis using PowerCAD (or equivalent), including:
• Load flow analysis
• Fault level calculations
• Protection coordination
• Preparation of engineering calculations and design reports
• Industrial LV electrical design, including:
• Motor Control Centres (MCCs)
• Distribution Boards
• Control Panels
• Cable sizing and selection
• Design of power and control interfaces to:
• Pumps
• Variable Speed Drives (VSDs)
• Actuators
• Instrumentation and other industrial field devices
• Design of PLC and plant control panels
• Presenting design solutions in client workshops
• Participation in HAZOPs, CHAZOPs, and other risk and safety review activities
