Mechanical Tradesperson

Alice Springs | Full Time Permanent | Commencing ASAP

Embedded Expertise is seeking an experienced Mechanical Tradesperson to support operations at a major Northern Territory power generation site. This is a permanent role suited to someone who thrives in a technical, safety focused environment and enjoys working on large industrial mechanical plant.

About the role

You will deliver mechanical maintenance across gas and diesel reciprocating engines and associated power generation equipment. The position focuses on reliability, safe systems of work, and high quality preventative and corrective maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and repair reciprocating engines and mechanical plant
• Perform preventative maintenance, corrective repairs and inspections
• Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical and operational faults
• Work within established Safe Systems of Work and permit processes
• Complete technical reporting and maintain accurate maintenance records
• Participate in an on-call roster and travel to other sites as required
• Contribute to a strong safety, quality and teamwork culture

About you

You will bring hands-on technical capability, problem solving skills and a commitment to safe work practices.

Essential requirements:

• Mechanical Fitter or Diesel Mechanic trade qualification
• Strong experience with large reciprocating engines
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• Confident using maintenance systems and digital tools
• Current driver licence or ability to transfer
• B Class Gas Licence or willingness to obtain

Desirable:

• Experience with MAN Diesel or GE Jenbacher engines
• High risk licences (CSE, forklift, EWP, working at heights)
• First aid
• Contractor supervision experience
