WHS Advisor – Operations & Maintenance

Alice Springs | Full Time Permanent | Commencing ASAP

Embedded Expertise is partnering with a major Northern Territory energy operator to recruit an experienced WHS Advisor for a permanent role based in Alice Springs. This position plays a key role in supporting safe operations across critical infrastructure and operational environments.

About the role

Reporting to the Manager – Health, Safety, Environment and Sustainability, you will provide practical, client?focused WHS advice and support to leaders and operational teams. The role is hands?on and influential, supporting continuous improvement in safety performance across operations and maintenance activities.

Key responsibilities

• Promote and support a positive safety culture across the business
• Provide WHS advice to managers, supervisors and operational teams
• Support hazard identification, risk assessments, JSEAs and safe systems of work
• Lead and contribute to incident, near?miss and injury investigations
• Analyse WHS data and trends to drive continuous improvement initiatives
• Maintain and review WHS policies, procedures and management systems
• Deliver internal WHS training and coaching to uplift capability
• Prepare reports, recommendations and compliance documentation

About you

You are a confident WHS professional with strong stakeholder engagement skills and experience working in operational or industrial environments.

Essential requirements:

• Demonstrated experience delivering WHS services in line with legislation and best practice
• Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, contractor management and compliance
• Experience developing and implementing WHS management systems and programs
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels
• Strong analytical and reporting capability
• Current NT driver licence or ability to obtain

Desirable:

• Tertiary qualification in WHS, OHS or similar
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or experience delivering training
• Experience in utilities, energy, or heavy industry environments
