Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Test & Commissioning Manager with a strong control systems engineering background to lead all testing and commissioning (T&C) activities on a major Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) project.

This role will be responsible for ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of integrated electrical and control systems—from factory testing through to site commissioning and final handover.

You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams across engineering, project delivery, and client stakeholders to ensure systems are fully operational and meet performance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of the Test & Commissioning Strategy, plans, and procedures
• Manage all phases of testing including:
• Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)
• Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)
• Systems Integration Testing (SIT)
• Operational Readiness & Handover
• Coordinate commissioning activities across:
• Electrical infrastructure
• Control systems (PLC/SCADA)
• Communications networks
• Field ITS devices
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, Australian standards, and safety requirements
• Interface with clients, contractors, and stakeholders as the lead for all commissioning activities
• Lead defect management, fault finding, and system troubleshooting
• Manage subcontractors, vendors, and specialist commissioning engineers
• Develop and maintain detailed commissioning schedules aligned with project milestones
• Oversee preparation and approval of test procedures, ITPs, and commissioning documentation
• Drive a strong safety culture across all testing and commissioning activities
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to commissioning teams

Key Requirements

• Proven experience in a Test & Commissioning Manager or senior commissioning role within infrastructure or automation projects
• Demonstrated experience delivering Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS), road, tunnel, or rail infrastructure projects
• Strong background in:
• Electrical systems and switchboards
• Industrial automation and control systems
• PLC, SCADA, and communications integration
• Experience working within a systems integrator or EPC project environment
• Strong knowledge of testing methodologies, standards, and commissioning processes
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Ability to manage complex, multi-disciplinary project environments
