Project Manager, Capital Projects & Engineering

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and deliver capital based engineering projects within a regulated manufacturing environment. This role is suited to an engineering professional from a Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical background who has strong, hands-on experience managing projects from concept through to commissioning.

The Role

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for the delivery of capital and engineering projects from concept, through design, installation, commissioning and handover, ensuring outcomes are achieved safely, on time, and within budget. You will work closely with site leadership, multi-disciplinary engineering teams, and external contractors to drive high quality project execution and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage capital-based engineering projects including design, estimation, scoping, installation and commissioning
  • Lead and or participate in multi-disciplinary project teams, providing technical and subject matter expertise as required
  • Ensure projects are delivered in line with safety, quality, cost, and schedule requirements
    Provide timely analysis and reporting on project costs, schedules, progress, risks, and trends
  • Prepare and issue monthly project status reports
  • Ensure all projects are managed in a manner that promotes a safe, healthy and secure workplace
  • Support site compliance with Major Hazard Facility MHF and EPA regulatory requirements

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

  • Degree qualified Engineer, Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical, preferably recognised by Engineers Australia
  • Experience within manufacturing or process based industries, chemical or liquid processing highly regarded
  • Proven experience delivering capital and engineering projects from concept through to commissioning
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects across multiple engineering disciplines
  • Strong project reporting and stakeholder communication skills
  • Working knowledge of instrumentation and control systems, desirable
  • Sound understanding of relevant engineering standards, legislation and regulatory frameworks
  • Applied knowledge of EHS requirements in a continuous manufacturing environment
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a complex operational setting
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative, team focused approach
