The Opportunity
We are seeking experienced Electronics Technicians to support the assembly and manufacture of prototype unmanned aerial systems for Defence applications. This role will work within a small, highly skilled engineering and avionics team, contributing to the rapid build, integration and refinement of multiple drone platforms.
This is a hands-on role suited to technicians who can operate autonomously, adapt quickly to a prototype environment and contribute meaningfully from day one.
Key Responsibilities
- Manufacture, assemble and modify electronic components for UAS platforms.
- Advanced hand soldering on fine-pitch components, through-hole and surface mount assemblies.
- PCB population, rework, fault finding and repair.
- Wiring looms and harness manufacturing to aviation and Defence standards.
- Electrical assembly and integration of avionics, power systems and payload components.
- Support prototype builds, test iterations and engineering changes.
- Work collaboratively with avionics engineers and electrical aircraft technicians.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship, safety and documentation.
Required Skills and Experience
- Formal electronics or avionics trade qualification.
- Strong background as an Electronics Technician, Avionics Technician or similar.
- Demonstrated experience in:
- Advanced soldering and PCB assembly.
- Wiring and harness manufacturing.
- Reading and working from wiring diagrams and technical drawings.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, prototype or low-volume manufacturing environment.
- High attention to detail and build quality.
- Comfortable working to Defence or aerospace-grade standards.
Highly Regarded
- Experience in UAV, aerospace, Defence or R&D environments.
- Exposure to prototype or pre-production manufacturing.
- Existing Defence security clearance.
