Engagement: Long-term contract (12 months+) with permanent option considered

The Opportunity

An established engineering consultancy is seeking an experienced Senior or Lead Electrical and Instrumentation Designer to support a major resources sector project based in Kwinana, Western Australia. This role will contribute to the delivery of detailed engineering design across complex industrial assets within a multidisciplinary project environment.

This position suits a technically strong designer with exposure to large-scale resources or industrial projects and experience working within structured consulting or EPC/EPCM frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver detailed electrical and instrumentation design packages for resources sector projects
  • Produce and review drawings including layouts, schematics, cable schedules, loop diagrams and instrumentation hook-ups
  • Coordinate with electrical, instrumentation and other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated design outcomes
  • Ensure designs comply with relevant Australian standards, client specifications and safety requirements
  • Participate in design reviews, HAZOPs and constructability assessments as required
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior designers when operating at Lead level
  • Engage with project stakeholders, vendors and clients as required

About You

  • Proven experience as a Senior or Lead Electrical and Instrumentation Designer
  • Strong background in the resources sector, ideally within larger consulting or EPC/EPCM organisations
  • Proficiency with common E&I design tools and systems used in consulting environments
  • Solid understanding of Australian standards and industry best practice
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
  • Availability to commit to a long-term engagement
