Services Manager - Defence

We are seeking an experienced Services Manager – Defence Facilities to support the delivery of complex, security sensitive Defence infrastructure projects. This role is responsible for the coordination and integration of building services across multiple disciplines, ensuring Defence specific requirements are correctly implemented and maintained throughout design and construction.

The position suits a mechanically qualified professional with strong experience in regulated, high security environments such as Defence, oil and gas, or data centres. The role focuses on technical integration, services separation, and compliance rather than pure design, acting as the central authority across mechanical, electrical, communications, and secure services.

Australian citizenship with sole citizenship status is mandatory due to the Defence environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage all building services packages across Defence facilities
• Ensure strict compliance with Defence service separation requirements
• Oversee interfaces between mechanical, electrical, communications, and networked systems
• Manage Defence zoning, colour coding, and security demarcation requirements
• Review and interpret technical drawings and Defence standards
• Act as the technical liaison between designers, contractors, and stakeholders
• Identify and manage risks associated with services integration and compliance
• Support design reviews, constructability assessments, and installation verification

Required Experience & Background

• Mechanical engineering or trade background
• Proven experience working in Defence or security constrained environments
• Strong knowledge of Defence services separation and zoning principles
• Experience coordinating comms networks and electrical interfaces
• Familiarity with Defence estate rules including colour coding and secure zones
• Background in oil and gas, data centres, or other highly regulated facilities highly regarded
• Strong coordination, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills
