Project Manager - HV Substations - 300/500kV

This landmark $25 billion renewable energy project will transform the national energy network and play a critical role in Australia’s clean energy future. We are seeking a high-performing professional to lead the delivery of HV transmission substation works across a major portfolio of projects in Western NSW.

You will be responsible for the successful delivery of high-voltage transmission substation construction projects from planning through to commissioning. This role will suit a technically strong Project Manager with proven experience delivering complex electrical infrastructure projects in live or brownfield environments.

The position will involve approximately:

• 70% office-based
• 30% on-site in Western NSW

Travel to project sites will be required on a regular basis.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end delivery of HV transmission substation construction projects
• Manage project scope, budget, schedule, risk, and quality outcomes
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering, construction, and commissioning teams
• Oversee subcontractors, suppliers, and stakeholder interfaces
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
• Drive project performance and reporting across multiple workstreams
• Support commissioning and energisation activities
• Build strong relationships with clients, contractors, and delivery partners

You will possess

• Degree qualifications in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
• Demonstrated experience delivering HV transmission or substation projects
• Strong understanding of high-voltage electrical systems and infrastructure
• Experience managing large-scale construction projects within utilities, energy, or infrastructure sectors
• Excellent stakeholder management and leadership capability
• Strong commercial and contractual acumen
• Ability to work both strategically and hands-on in a fast-paced project environment

Desirable Experience

• Experience working on renewable energy or transmission infrastructure projects
• Exposure to EPC or major infrastructure delivery models
• Familiarity with Australian utility standards and grid connection requirements
• Previous experience in regional or remote project delivery environments
