You will work closely with Defence stakeholders, technical teams, and project delivery personnel to provide specialist engineering advice and support across complex integrated network environments. This role requires a hands-on engineering professional with strong technical capability, excellent stakeholder engagement skills, and experience operating within secure Defence or government environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide engineering support and technical advice relating to Defence digital network integration activities.
- Assist in the design, integration, and optimisation of secure communications and network infrastructure solutions.
- Support the development of network architectures, interface designs, and technical documentation.
- Conduct systems analysis, integration planning, testing, and troubleshooting across complex ICT and communications environments.
- Collaborate with Defence stakeholders, vendors, and multidisciplinary project teams to ensure successful integration outcomes.
- Support implementation and transition activities within secure operational environments.
- Ensure compliance with Defence security, engineering, and governance frameworks.
- Contribute to risk assessments, technical reviews, and change management activities.
- Participate in on-site workshops, technical meetings, and project reviews.
Required Skills & Experience
- Demonstrated experience as a Network Engineer, Communications Engineer, or Systems Integration Engineer within Defence, government, or highly secure environments.
- Strong understanding of:
- IP networking and routing/switching technologies
- Secure communications systems
- Enterprise network integration
- Network security principles
- Systems engineering and integration methodologies

- Experience working within complex multi-vendor ICT environments.
- Ability to interpret technical requirements and translate them into practical engineering outcomes.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative on-site team environment.
Security Requirements
Applicants must hold a minimum active NV1 Security Clearance at the time of application. Candidates without an active clearance will not be considered.
Work Arrangement
This position is full-time on-site due to the secure nature of the program and operational requirements.
