System Admin – VMware, MS Server, CISCO, Powershelll

You will assist in the management of the physical infrastructure, allocation of its resources including provision of common IT resources and the ongoing security compliance of the infrastructure

Responsibilities

• Maintain Configuration Management of hardware and software for core infrastructure and assist with Configuration Management of connected environments, including conducting periodic audits
• Conduct Availability Management, for the capacity allocation and enduring management
• Maintain ongoing security accreditation of the environment through security monitoring, vulnerability assessments, configuration management, patching of operating systems and applications, and providing subject matter expertise into security threat risk analysis
• Maintain a Change Management process for the core infrastructure (all domains) and setup, administration and teardown of user environments within it
• Install, configure and administer software applications (including Windows and Linux based servers and applications)
• Maintain technical and security documentation, training products and configuration records for the environment
• Contribute to and help control the design and implementation of infrastructure extensions and upgrades through provision of written and oral feedback and management of changes.

Require Technical Skills

• VMware ESXi version 7 (and later)
• VMware vCenter version 7 (and later)
• VMware VCF version 9 (and later)
• Windows Server 2016, 2022 and 2025
• Active Directory and Group Policy
• WSUS
• Windows 10 and Windows 11 SOE Management
• NetBackup
• Significant Powershell experience

You will possess

• Experience with Containerisation & Virtualisation
• 10+ years of experience in SOE administration, Datacenter engineering and application packaging/integration
• Extensive knowledge of scripting languages & automation principles e.g. Powershell, Gitlab, Ansible
• Experience with core CISCO based networking technologies
• VMware/Broadcom based hypervisor technologies
• Experience writing technical documentation, such as Standard Operating Procedures, System As-Built and High Level Designs
• 5+ years of experience implementing System Security controls, namely ACSC ISM (Information System Manual) controls, and STIG policies on Windows and Linux platforms (RHEL)
• Experience working in a client-facing user-support role
