System Engineer – Integration, Test & Evaluation

As the Senior Services Engineer, you will provide technically informed advice, assess the impacts of change across interfaces and dependencies, and contribute to alignment between evolving requirements, implemented solutions, and operational outcomes.

The role is a hands?on engineering position undertaken within a small specialist team. You will be expected to operate across system integration, test and evaluation, and incremental design evolution activities, contributing to the identification, assessment, and management of integration risks.

Responsibilities

  • Produce and maintain authoritative system design and architecture documentation that describes integrated system configurations, interfaces, dependencies, and design intent
  • Deliver just?in?time technical training and actively mentor personnel to build system understanding, integration awareness, and engineering
  • Provide Level 3 technical support and routine system and operating environment maintenance
  • Participate in project Test and Evaluation and Risk Reduction events, providing engineering input, integration analysis, and technical remediation necessary to enable achievement of system?level objectives
  • Conduct engineering configuration management of hardware, software, and system artefacts
  • Produce clear written and oral engineering reports following test, integration, and validation activities, capturing findings, risks, integration issues, and recommended actions
  • Propose and contribute to innovation activities to assess emerging technologies, architectures, or integration approaches


Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience applying systems engineering and software engineering practices across system integration activities
  • Experience engineering, integrating, and sustaining complex enterprise application and information system environments
  • Ability to implement, assess, and maintain security controls aligned with the Information Security Manual (ISM) and the Essential Eight mitigation strategies
  • Strong understanding of LAN and WAN engineering principles, including IP addressing, routing, DNS, DHCP, and network segmentation
  • An understanding of FVEY’s networks, systems and processes
  • A minimum NV2 security clearance
