Embedded Expertise is seeking Expressions of Interest from experienced Operational Readiness Engineers (Electrical) to support major capital delivery programs within the water sector.

This role sits within a Reliability Engineering function, providing critical support across multiple infrastructure projects to ensure assets are delivered with robust operational and maintenance frameworks in place.

About the Role

This is a project-focused position, working under project management direction across a portfolio of capital works.

You'll play a key role in ensuring that newly constructed or upgraded electrical assets are fully prepared for operational handover, with effective reliability and maintenance strategies embedded from day one.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver operational readiness and reliability engineering support across capital projects
  • Develop and implement maintenance and asset management strategies for new electrical infrastructure
  • Apply reliability engineering tools, models, and techniques to optimise asset performance
  • Ensure assets are correctly established within systems such as Maximo, including maintenance frameworks
  • Contribute to predictive and condition-based maintenance strategies
  • Support and audit maintenance and reliability standards across the project lifecycle
  • Work closely with project managers and multidisciplinary teams to achieve program outcomes
  • Drive improvements in asset availability, performance, and lifecycle outcomes

About You

  • Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering
  • Postgraduate qualifications in Reliability Engineering (highly regarded)
  • Strong background in maintenance and reliability engineering within water, utilities, or heavy industry
  • Demonstrated experience applying reliability methodologies to complex and critical assets
  • Experience with maintenance systems, standards, and audits
  • Ability to operate as a SME within reliability and asset management
  • Proven capability working across project delivery environments
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills

Contract Details

  • Initial 12-month contract (FY2026–2027)
  • Full-time engagement across major capital projects
  • Potential extension subject to future budget and workload
  • Immediate or near-term project commencement
