Embedded Expertise is inviting Expressions of Interest from experienced Operational Readiness Engineers (Mechanical) to support a portfolio of capital infrastructure projects within a major water utility.
This opportunity sits within a Reliability Engineering team, focused on delivering operational readiness outcomes across newly constructed and upgraded assets.
About the Role
This is a hands-on, project-based role supporting the transition of mechanical assets from construction through to operations.
You will ensure that maintenance strategies, reliability frameworks, and asset data are established to enable long-term operational success and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Support operational readiness activities across mechanical assets and systems
- Develop and implement maintenance programs and reliability strategies
- Apply advanced reliability engineering techniques to improve asset performance
- Ensure assets are properly established within systems (e.g. Maximo) and aligned to maintenance frameworks
- Contribute to maintenance planning, optimisation, and lifecycle performance
- Conduct reviews and audits of maintenance and reliability standards
- Work collaboratively with project teams and stakeholders to deliver project outcomes
- Support implementation of predictive and condition-based maintenance practices
- Champion a strong safety and performance culture
About You
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering
- Postgraduate qualifications in Reliability Engineering (advantageous)
- Strong experience in maintenance and reliability engineering
- Background in water utilities, mining, oil & gas, or heavy industry
- Demonstrated experience working on complex infrastructure or capital projects
- Strong understanding of maintenance systems, standards, and asset lifecycle management
- Ability to contribute as a technical SME within reliability and maintenance disciplines
- Effective communicator with strong stakeholder engagement capability
