We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineer to provide lifecycle management and technical support for control systems, instrumentation, and data assets within a complex operational environment.
Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, availability, maintenance, security and ongoing improvement of operational technology and control systems while supporting a range of upgrade and asset management initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the reliability and availability of control system assets used in the control and monitoring of operational assets and systems.
  • Provide expert technical advice and operational support for SCADA, DCS, PLC, Safety Systems and associated control systems, including their update, maintenance and effective operation.
  • Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations on plant and equipment failures and produce reports within required timeframes.
  • Review and manage critical spares to maximise reliability and availability.
  • Provide specialist technical advice relating to control systems applications, configuration, patches, updates and system management.
  • Develop, implement and maintain controls that mitigate cyber security risks across Operational Technology (OT) networks.
  • Provide OT cybersecurity subject matter expertise and support to technology and cybersecurity stakeholders.
  • Make informed decisions relating to Operational Technology systems and provide technical advice to stakeholders.
  • Investigate, troubleshoot, configure, design, program and document DCS, PLC, SCADA and Historian systems.
  • Develop, review and implement system management procedures and standards, including privacy, confidentiality and data security requirements.
  • Develop and maintain asset management plans for control, instrumentation and SCADA assets.
  • Undertake and manage projects ranging from small-scale upgrades through to multi-million-dollar programs.
  • Carry out duties in accordance with organisational safety, environmental and quality requirements.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Strong experience supporting and maintaining SCADA, DCS, PLC, Safety Systems and Historian platforms.
  • Experience in troubleshooting, configuration, design, programming and system management of industrial control systems.
  • Experience leading Root Cause Analysis investigations and implementing corrective actions.
  • Knowledge of Operational Technology cybersecurity principles and risk mitigation controls.
  • Experience developing asset management plans for control systems and instrumentation assets.
  • Experience managing upgrade projects and system improvement initiatives.
  • Strong technical problem-solving and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • The ability to provide expert technical advice and make decisions relating to Operational Technology environments.
