Senior Control Systems Engineer

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Senior Control Systems Engineer to join a well-established engineering team delivering automation, control systems and operational technology projects across a diverse range of industrial sectors.

This role will suit a hands-on engineer who enjoys technical problem solving, project delivery and working closely with clients to deliver practical automation solutions. You'll be involved in the full project lifecycle, from design and development through to commissioning and ongoing support.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development and delivery of industrial control systems projects.
• Develop and modify PLC, SCADA, HMI and DCS applications.
• Provide technical leadership and support to engineering and project teams.
• Undertake troubleshooting, fault finding and commissioning activities.
• Participate in system upgrades, migrations and modernisation projects.
• Prepare technical documentation including functional specifications, test procedures and commissioning plans.
• Engage directly with clients and stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.
• Support project estimation, planning and execution activities.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality and engineering standards.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Demonstrated experience as a Control Systems, Automation or Electrical Engineer within industrial environments.
• Strong experience with PLC, SCADA and HMI platforms.
• Experience across mining, power generation, utilities, oil & gas, water or manufacturing sectors.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving and commissioning capabilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• The ability to work autonomously while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
• Relevant Engineering degree qualifications.

Desirable Experience

• Schneider, Rockwell, Siemens, Honeywell, Yokogawa or Emerson platforms.
• Industrial communications and networking.
• Operational Technology (OT) environments and cybersecurity awareness.
• Project engineering or technical leadership experience.
• Chartered status or eligibility for professional registration.
