Senior Technical Advisor | Dams & Drainage

Our client is seeking a Senior Technical Advisor - Dams & Drainage to join their Operations Engineering team based in Bunbury. This role will play a key part in supporting the safe, reliable and compliant operation of critical water infrastructure assets across the South West region.

Working closely with operations, maintenance and engineering stakeholders, you'll provide technical advice, support asset performance initiatives and contribute to the ongoing management of dams and drainage infrastructure.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer or experienced technical professional looking to broaden their expertise within a highly specialised infrastructure environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and advice relating to dams and drainage asset performance.
• Assist with asset condition assessments, inspections and performance reviews.
• Contribute to maintenance strategy development and operational risk management activities.
• Support engineering investigations and asset reliability initiatives.
• Prepare technical reports, compliance documentation and asset performance records.
• Provide technical input into minor projects and capital works activities.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, planning and project delivery teams.
• Support safety, environmental and quality compliance requirements across assets.

About You

To be successful, you will have:

• Engineering degree or trade-based qualification relevant to infrastructure, civil, mechanical or water operations.
• Experience providing technical, engineering or asset support within utilities, infrastructure, resources, local government or consulting environments.
• Understanding of asset maintenance, reliability or infrastructure lifecycle management principles.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to build effective working relationships across multidisciplinary teams.
• Willingness to undertake site inspections and field-based activities.
• Current C Class Driver's Licence.

Highly Regarded

• Exposure to dams, drainage networks, water infrastructure or civil assets.
• Knowledge of asset management frameworks and practices.
• Experience preparing technical documentation and engineering reports.
• Familiarity with ANCOLD guidelines and dam safety principles.
