Working as part of the commissioning team, you will be responsible for supporting the safe and successful commissioning of electrical, instrumentation, control and associated process systems across the facility.
Responsibilities
- Planning and executing E&I commissioning activities
- Supporting pre-commissioning, energisation, testing and functional commissioning
- Inspecting and verifying E&I installations prior to commissioning
- Developing and executing commissioning test procedures and test packs
- Testing instrumentation, control systems, MCCs, switchboards and associated equipment.
- Supporting loop checks, I/O testing, interlock testing and functional testing.
- Working closely with PLC/SCADA and controls personnel to resolve commissioning issues.
- Identifying, documenting and closing out defects and commissioning punch-list items.
- Reviewing drawings, schematics, cable schedules, instrument indexes and technical documentation.
- Liaising with construction, engineering, vendors, subcontractors and client representatives.
- Supporting system handover and ensuring commissioning documentation is completed accurately.
You will possess
- A degree or relevant qualification in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, Controls or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in E&I commissioning, preferably within water, wastewater, utilities, process or other major infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of electrical and instrumentation systems.
- Experience with commissioning procedures, test packs, loop checking and functional testing.
- The ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, loop diagrams and instrumentation documentation.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A proactive, methodical approach with a strong commitment to safety.
- Experience working within large, multidisciplinary project teams.
