Snr Automation Engineer - major brownfield upgrade

Reporting to the Project Manager and working closely with the Principal Engineer, you will be engaged on a Hot Strip Mill Drives and Control System Upgrade project and ensure all automation engineering associated with the is carried out efficiently and effectively. You will be responsible for ensuring that allocated packages of work are engineered within budget and time, with fit-for-purpose solutions and will provide technical expertise to support your outcomes in the context of the wider project.

You will possess:

• Experience in heavy industry or industrial manufacturing
• Experience gained on Brownfield Projects or Operational Support Roles
• Practical electrical experience in industrial wiring (with or without trades license)
• Control Systems design, programming, commissioning and maintenance experience
• Integration experience programming Siemens PLC’s and Citect SCADA
• The ability to work “Hands On” for commissioning and fault finding
• The ability to write Functional Descriptions and other detailed technical documentation
