This is an excellent opportunity for a suitably qualified instrumentation professional to play a hands-on role during the commissioning phase of a major water infrastructure project.

About the Role
Working as part of the commissioning team, you will be responsible for supporting the installation checks, testing, calibration and commissioning of instrumentation and control systems across the plant.

Responsibilities

  • Carrying out instrumentation inspections, testing and calibration.
  • Assisting with pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.
  • Loop checking and point-to-point testing of instrumentation.
  • Testing and verifying pressure, flow, level, temperature and analytical instruments.
  • Assisting with fault finding and rectification of instrumentation issues.
  • Working with PLC, SCADA and control systems during commissioning.
  • Reviewing instrumentation drawings, loop diagrams, datasheets and commissioning documentation.
  • Recording test results and completing commissioning documentation.
  • Working closely with electrical, controls, mechanical and commissioning personnel.
  • Ensuring all work is completed safely and in accordance with project requirements.


About You

  • Trade qualifications in Instrumentation, Electrical/Instrumentation or a related discipline.
  • Experience as an Instrumentation Technician on industrial or infrastructure projects.
  • Previous experience with commissioning and pre-commissioning activities.
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Experience with calibration and testing of process instrumentation.
  • The ability to read and interpret P&IDs, loop drawings and instrumentation documentation.
  • A strong commitment to safety and quality.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a commissioning team.
  • Good communication and documentation skills.
  • A current Australian driver's licence and relevant site tickets/inductions as required.
