Electrical Reliability Engineer -

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Electrical Reliability Engineer to join a leading manufacturing operation in Melbourne. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe, compliant, and reliable performance of the site's electrical assets and hazardous area installations.

This is a hands-on technical leadership position where you will drive electrical reliability, asset performance, regulatory compliance, maintenance effectiveness, and continuous improvement initiatives across a complex industrial manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead electrical reliability, maintenance, and compliance across the site.
• Govern the Hazardous Area Management System (HAMS) and electrical safety programs.
• Develop and implement maintenance strategies to improve asset performance.
• Provide technical support for HV/LV systems, PLCs, DCS, and protection systems.
• Drive root cause analysis, continuous improvement, and energy optimisation initiatives.
• Maintain electrical standards, documentation, and regulatory compliance.
• Support maintenance, operations, and capital project teams with technical expertise.

About You

• Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience within manufacturing, industrial, FMCG, chemical, pharmaceutical, or process industries.
• Strong knowledge of HV/LV electrical systems, PLC/DCS controls, and protection systems.
• Experience with hazardous area installations and electrical compliance requirements.
• Familiarity with CMMS and maintenance management practices.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Desirable

• Hazardous Area Classification, Inspection, or Design experience.
• Reliability-Centred Maintenance (RCM) or Asset Management experience.
• Exposure to energy management and optimisation projects.
• Experience supporting capital works and plant upgrades.
