This is a senior role with a global mining company. World leading in the production of gold, copper, silver, lead and zinc.

In this supervisory position, you will lead the Process Control Engineering team, implement and maintain industrial automation systems utilised at site. You will ensure safe, reliable, and effective control & automation systems.

6-month contract is on offer - FIFO 8/6 Perth

About The Role

  • Supervise day to day maintenance, troubleshooting and continuous improvement of process control systems across site.
  • Provide technical and statutory guidance and support to site.
  • Prioritise and manage system reliability concerns and improvement projects.
  • Prioritise and manage the PCS Change Management System, change, and bridge registers
  • Work closely with metallurgy, operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to ensure the automation systems are aligned
  • Support Reliability, Maintenance and Asset Management Best Practice
  • Work closely with maintenance, production & engineering teams to achieve common goals
  • Maintain adequate site callout support for control systems
  • Coordinate resource allocation and use across the site interfaces.

Technical Accountabilities

  • Provide frontline engineering support to metallurgy maintenance, production & engineering teams
  • Utilise domain knowledge to assist in Root Cause Analysis, process improvement and post incident investigations.
  • Ensure statutory systems are maintained, audited and treated according to the relevant legislation.
  • Ensure routine preventative maintenance, checks, audits and patches to maintain the integrity of both hardware & software components of the process control system
  • Provide robust, cost effective engineering solutions, compliant with site and Australian Standards and in line with industry best practice.
  • Provide technical support, guidance and coaching to site personnel
  • Conduct performance evaluations to identify operational limitations and initiate steps to enhance system performance
  • Maintain the safety, security and integrity of process control systems from physical & cyber intrusion

About You

  • Minimum of 5 years’ supervisory experience in a mining or heavy industrial environment
  • Minimum qualifications of either:
    • Electrical / Instrument trade certificate with 8 years automation specific experience
    • Electrical / Electronics / Control / Mechatronics / Process Engineering Bachelor’s degree, recognised by Engineers Australia.
