Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will perform a multi-faceted role encompassing

Lead the Mechanical Design Process:

  • Manage the Mechanical Engineering team to support the development of project scope and capital estimate ensuring alignment to the project delivery strategy.
  • Ensure that others working within assigned packages of work have clarity around deliverables, relevant timing, and constraints.

Design Engineer responsibilities:

  • Perform mechanical engineering tasks as allocated including completing design, calculations, specifications, sketches, reviewing drawings and approval of mechanical engineering drawings and documents.
  • Where responsible for design, ensuring design output completion following a design process that includes - developing and maintaining a DES-001 design management plan, design reviews, verification, authorisation, and validation.

Project Engineering responsibilities:

  • Develop Customer Requirements Specification (CRS) and engage stakeholders in identifying and documenting requirements in line with the project objectives.
  • Co-ordination of technical specifications, tendering, procurement, contracting and contract administration processes within the assigned packages of work.
  • Participate in the negotiation of contracts and resolution of issues that may arise from these contracts within the assigned packages of work.
  • Assist with activities associated with development of operational, maintenance, training material to ensure equipment achieves nameplate capacity quickly.

Your experience will include:

  • 5+ years of experience managing the engineering aspects of capital projects in heavy industry
  • Heavy industrial manufacturing facilities and associated infrastructure.
  • Sufficiently broad understanding of engineering, construction, and commissioning
  • Contract commercial and technical document preparation
  • Project estimating and planning preparation
  • Experience in the pre-authorisation development and delivery of discipline engineering and project deliverables.
  • Understands toll gated approach to project development and execution.
