Automation Technician

You will be joining a high performing fixed site team providing preventative and corrective maintenance for major automation assets within Sydney Airport.

You will be joining a well-established team made up of Engineers, Automation Technicians and Service Electricians responsible for all aspects of preventative and corrective maintenance for the AMS and BHS systems within the airport. You will also work on ongoing upgrades of assets involving the removal of old PLC’s and the install of new PLC’s.
The successful candidate will get exposure to a variety of systems:

• Siemens 1200s and 1500s / TIA Portal
• GE Versa Max and 90-30 PLC’s / Proficy Machine Edition
• Schneider Citect SCADA and a migration to Ignition

The nature of the role and the range of systems will provide the successful candidate with a great learning opportunity as they will get significant exposure to a wide range of technology.
Requirements:
As a fully licenced Electrician you will have had some exposure to working on PLC systems and have a desire to learn and increase their knowledge in this area driving career progression.
You will be comfortable working as part of a fixed on-site team but be happy to work autonomously as the schedule of work and tasks in hand dictate.
